Led by space planning, david Bennett started his pursuit of architecture back in high school where he took his first drafting classes. From there he attended Wake Technical College in Raleigh, taking their Architectural Technology program. After college David went to work for various engineering firms, several builders and did freelance drafting for individuals and architects. In 1986 he joined the team at Capital Designs in Raleigh and remained there for 3 years, rising to the position of their head designer. He left Capital Designs and opened Triangle Residential Designs in January of 1986 as an one man office in Cary. The company grew and in 1995 he bought Carolina Homes Plans of Raleigh and added their assets to TRD. When the building industry collapsed in 2008, David weathered the storm and remained open, but moved his office to his home where it is today. The move, while difficult at the time, has been the best thing that could have happened.
